Lynn Marie (Penny) Oddy, 50, passed away comfortably at her Westport home on Sunday, April 3, 2011. She was born in Arcadia, California, the daughter of the late James T. Penny and Claudia A (Givens) Penny. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Lynn graduated from Arcadia High School in 1978 and then attended Pasadena City College for two years. She loved all outdoor sports including swimming and skiing. Most of her time was spent at San Clemente, Calif. in the summer and Mammoth Mountain, Calif. in the winter. Lynn also won numerous AAU swimming competitions.
In 1987, Lynn married Scott Oddy and they moved to Westport, Wash. There, they raised a son, Ryan and two daughters, Briana and Nicole. She worked mostly in retail but her fondest memories were running a daycare in Westport. Lynn met many wonderful people and watched as the kids grew up to become young adults and even parents.
Lynn is survived by her husband and three kids; her grandfather, Dan Elston of Carlsbad, Calif., her brother, Doug (Laurie) Penny of Albany, Ore.; sister, Karen Clifton of Ventura, Calif., aunt Jeanie Hippler of Davis, Calif., and uncle Milo (Cindy) Elston of Carlsbad, Calif and many cousing including Kara (Tim) Elston Sulliven of Mt. Vernon, Wash., Andy Givens of Santa Monica, Calif., Danny Givens of Va., and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as her beloved huskies, Koda and Keisha.
At Lynn’s request, there will be no services. A family get together will be held at a later date.
