Obituary for Michael Eugene Catron

Michael Eugene Catron, 36, Elma resident and graduate of Elma High School, Class of 2000, died Monday, July 10, 2017 at Summit Pacific Medical Center in Elma, WA from severe Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension.
Michael was born on March 12, 1981 in Olympia, WA to Virginia Ann ‘Sandy’ Crabb and was adopted by Steven Joseph and Debra Ann (Hammer) Furth. He grew up in Wishkah Valley and in Elma. Following graduation, he went to work for the Elma School District in 2003 working as a substitute in the print shop, Custodian and as a bus monitor for 12 years.
He loved his dog ‘Snickers’ and spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed watching movies, playing casino games on his phone, long walks around town and teasing his sisters and cousins.
Michael is survived by his mother, Debra Hammer of Elma and his father, Steven Furth of Wishkah Valley; Sisters: Debbie Van Housen of Aberdeen, Tami Furth of Yelm and Jodi Valentine of Montesano; grandparents: Ed and Virginia Catron of Hoquiam; many aunts and uncles (especially, Uncle Bob and Aunt Sue Hammer), many cousins, nieces and nephews (Especially, cousin Aubria Niemi and Detective James Moody). Michael was preceded in death by a few days by his grandmother Darlene Hammer. He was also preceded in death by his mother, Sandy Crabb, grandparents, Robert Hammer in 1995, Don and Betty Furth and a cousin, Officer Brad Moody.
There will be a time of visitation and viewing on Monday, July 17th from 1-8 PM and on Tuesday, July 18th from 9-Noon in Fern Hill Funeral Home, Aberdeen, WA. A celebration of Michael’s life will take place at 1 PM, Tuesday at the Fern Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Fern Hill Cemetery, Aberdeen, WA. A reception will follow the services in The Dorothy Mann Reception Room in Fern Hill Funeral Home.
