Nancy Elizabeth Lauder-Miller, 85, lifetime Aberdeen resident and former clerk at Aberdeen JC Penny’s, died Monday, October 20, 2014 at Grays Harbor Health & Rehab in Aberdeen.
Nancy was born on April 2, 1929 in Hoquiam to Bernt and Elizabeth (Hogberg) Sandstrom. She graduated from Aberdeen’s Weatherwax High School in 1947.
In 1948, Nancy married Charles R. Lauder in Aberdeen. He later died in 1995. She married Joe Miller in October 1999 and he later passed in 2008.
Nancy worked for JC Penny’s form 1973 till her retirement in 1994. Before that she was a teller at National Bank of Commerce in Aberdeen from 1947 to 1953.
She was a member of the Golden Agers, Christian Women’s, Harbor Haylofter’s, Trinity Lutheran and Amazing Grace Lutheran Church and she volunteered at the Aberdeen Museum. She loved her family most of all and a close second were her friends. She liked to grow and press flowers, making cards, dancing both Square Dance and ballroom, trips to Europe and Sweden and spending time in Palm Springs.
Nancy is survived by her son Craig Lauder of Milwaukee, OR and a daughter Annette and her husband Curt Brennan of Crabtree, OR; a sister Inez Coulter of Aberdeen; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Henry and Bernt Sandstrom.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 1:00 PM in Amazing Grace Lutheran Church. The family suggests that donations be made to Amazing Grace Lutheran Church.
