Janette Grace Schamber, 70, a longtime resident of Aberdeen, passed away at Fir Lane Rehabilitation Center, Shelton, Monday, September 15, 2014. Janette was born in Aberdeen on March 17, 1944, the daughter of Thorne and Margaret (Maki) Brown. She graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1962.
She married Dennis L. Krocker and they would live in Springfield, OR. They were divorced in 1978 and she returned to Aberdeen where she would hold a number of positions in businesses. Janette was an Avon Cosmetics dealer for 35 years, an office Administrator and receptionist for Evergreen Counseling Center, Hoquiam. And later operated a daycare at her home in Central Park. She would also complete an AA degree at Grays Harbor Community College.
Janette married Raymond K. Schamber in Aberdeen on August 25, 1984. He died in Shelton May 18, 2014.
She was a member of the Chinook Indian Tribe, the Aberdeen Veterans of Foreign Wars and the United Christian Church of Aberdeen.
She was a mariners fan, liked to collect anything dolphin related , crochet and work crossword puzzles. Her greatest love was her grandkids and great grandbabies.
Janette is survived by two sons: Doug (Cherie) Krocker, Sequim, WA and Ron (Jodi) Krocker, Marysville, WA; a step-son: Brad Schamber, Aberdeen; two step-daughters: Denise (Archie) Larson and Barb Schamber, both of Aberdeen; and also 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 AM Friday, September 19th in Aberdeen’s Fern Hill Cemetery. A reception will follow in the Dorothy Mann Reception Hall at Fern Hill Funeral Home.
