Zale Michael Winkle, 75, lifetime harborite and former machine operator at the Cosi Pulp Mill, died Sunday, April 27, 2014 at his home in Cosmopolis, WA.
Zale was born on February 7, 1939 in Aberdeen to George Walter and Evelyn Katherine (Luctvick) Winkle. He grew up in Hoquiam and graduated from Hoquiam High School. He worked for Evans Plywood in the 60’s and 70’s on the green chain before becoming the yard foreman. He then went to work at the Cosi Pulp Mill working in the wood mill. He retired in 1982.
On February 8, 1960, Zale married the love of his life Linda Ramsdell in Cosmopolis. She died on March 13, 1998.
Zale enjoyed hunting and fishing and going to gun shows. He also enjoyed RVing and going to Reno with his wife Linda.
Zale is survived by his son, Dean Winkle of Elma; daughters: Nicole Winkle of Cosmopolis, Cheryl and Debbie; a sister Rosie of Springfield, Missouri; four grandchildren: Carmen, Marshall, Courtni and Austin; three great grandchildren: Mia, Jack and Brielle. He was preceded in death by brothers: Leo, George, Sammy, Walter and John.
