Nicole Jeanne Winkle, 49, Cosmopolis resident and former Safeway meat wrapper, died Tuesday, March 8, 2016 in Aberdeen, WA.
Nicole was born on September 1, 1966 in Aberdeen to Zale Michael and Linda Sharon (Ramsdell) Winkle. She lived her whole life in Cosmopolis and graduated from Aberdeen’s J.M. Weatherwax High School in 1984.
She worked at Safeway as a meat wrapper for many years and then for Swanson’s Grocery from 2012-13.
Nicole (Nikki) loved her dog, Darla May. The two of them were always together; walking, traveling and sun bathing.
Nicole had a passion for writing. She wrote a poem titled, “The Fairest of The Fair”, that was published in The National Library of Poetry - Mists of Enchantment. She also wrote a few letters to the local newspaper regarding social and environmental issues she felt strongly about.
Nicole gave back to her community in her loving way, volunteering at local shelters. She was a very caring woman that was quick to help others. When her father, Zale, took ill she was his primary caregiver until his passing in April, 2014. She never fully over came the grief of losing her beloved father.
One of the brightest moments in Nicole’s life was the birth of her granddaughter, Brielle. they could often be seen at the play park enjoying time together.
Nicole was a beautiful person, inside and out and will be remembered for always having a good time.
Nicole is survived by a daughter, Courtni Gobat of Cosmopolis; a brother Dean (Jennie) Winkle of Elma and a half-sister, Cheryl Zamora (Bobby) of Simi Valley, CA and a granddaughter, Brielle Blueback.
She is Proceeded in death by her loving Parents Zale and Linda Winkle.
There will be a celebration of Nicole’s life on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 2 PM in the Aberdeen VFW Post 224, 105 E. Heron St., Aberdeen.

Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be given to a local suicide prevention program in your area and that you hug a loved one.
