Joyce Bea (Covey) Wilson, 68, formerly a resident of the Harbor, died peacefully at Franciscan Hospice House located in University Place, WA, Tuesday, July 12, 2016. She was born in Bremerton, WA, July 29, 1948, the daughter of James Arza and Hallie Bea (Riley) Covey.
Joyce came to Ocean Shores from Bremerton in 1963 and had graduated from Moclips High School in 1966. After a marriage to Ronald R. Wilson in 1993 they would move to Camas, WA and then on to Surprise, AZ where she would live until coming to Federal Way, WA in 2013. She and Ron were divorced in 2003.
Joyce worked several jobs throughout her career. She was a bookkeeper at the Muckelshoot Bingo in Auburn, and also as a waitress and bartender in Buckley, and a school bus driver in Sumner. She lastly worked at Lowes Home Improvement in Arizona, retiring in 2003.
She had belonged to the Aberdeen and the Buckley Eagles, and also to the Elks Lodge in Vancouver, WA and Arizona.
Joyce is survived by a daughter: Tracy Apple (Todd), Morton, WA; a son: Tad Covey (Bobbie Jo), Enumclaw, WA; two step-daughters: Kristina (Wilson) Jacks, Alexander, AR and Kimberly (Wilson) Ward, Tucson, AZ; three brothers: Harold Covey, Lynnwood, WA, Glen Covey, Phoenix, AZ and Fred Covey, Nampa, ID; a sister: Florence Ellison, Sun City, AZ; and also 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A brother, Jim Covey, preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, July 20th, in the chapel at Fern Hill Funeral Home, Aberdeen. Entombment will follow in The Colonnades at Fern Hill Cemetery.
