Wesley Ray Van Blaricom, age 85, passed away on
Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015, at Monte Health & Rehab,
after health complications from Parkinson's.
Wes was born on November 27, 1929, in Harrison,
Idaho, to Phillip and Ethel Van Blaricom.
Wes married Florence Ingram on November 25,
1949. Wes and Florence celebrated their 65th
wedding anniversary in 2014.
Wes served in the army from 1953 to 1955. When
he returned home he worked at Hoquiam Plywood.
Wes was a carpenter who built homes and an
apartment complex. Wes built a small unit motel in
Ocean Shores where the family lived and enjoyed
digging razor clams.
Wes enjoyed hunting with his brothers and family
members, restoring antique cars and woodworking
projects.
Wes is survived by his wife, Florence; daughter,
Karen Yakovich (Dennis), of Port Angeles, WA;
granddaughter, Kelsey Mitchell, of San Diego, CA;
two brothers, Robert Van Blaricom (Louise), of Ocean
Shores, Bill Van Blaricom, of Aberdeen; and a
cousin, Lyle Van Blaricom (Betty), of Montesano.
Wes was preceded in death by his parents Phillip
and Ethel Van Blaricom.
A private family remembrance will be held in the
future.
