Michael “Mike” Clifford Tuck, 80, lifelong Aberdeen resident and former log truck driver passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at Willapa Harbor Care Center in Raymond, Washington.
Mike was born on January 15, 1943 to parents: Clifford and Shirley (Jobst) Tuck in Aberdeen, Washington. Mike attended Hoquiam schools. At the age of 17, he joined the United States Air Force. He was honorably discharged in November 1961. He later met Velma Mudgett, they were smitten from day one. The couple married on June 9, 1962 in Hoquiam, Washington. They went on to have 3 daughters: Penny, Peggy, and Patsy. Mike would begin his career in a paper and pulp mill for sometime, before eventually becoming a log truck driver for many many years. He worked for various companies such as: Rayonier Logging, Mayr Bros. Logging Company, Bramstedt Logging, Anderson & Middleton, Anderson & Anderson, and retiring with Skookum Logging.
Mike was an avid outdoorsman, he took pleasure in camping, hunting, and fishing. His biggest enjoyment was being around his family. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Shirley Tuck; brother, Clifford Harris; and sister, Deanna Madden.
Mike is survived by his wife of 61 loving years, Velma Tuck, who resides in the family home; daughters; Penny (Ray) Richmond, of Aberdeen, Washington; Peggy (Jim) Coon, of Ocean Shores, Washington; and Patsy “Mystie” (John) Thompson, of Aberdeen, Washington; 7 grandchildren: Christopher Stacie, Jolene Stacie, Stephanie Hahn, Brittany Hahn, Melanie Hahn, Shaughn Tuck, and Clifford Miller; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 2:00PM located at South Aberdeen Baptist Church, 620 Fordney St. A reception will follow the service.
