Jack Thompson, 75, Longtime Cosmopolis resident beloved Husband, Father and Brother died Thursday, March 20, 2014, peacefully at home in Cosmopolis. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, we will all miss his forever smile and the twinkle in his eye, you were Jacks friend even if you had just met him, He was a very giving person and was always there to help anybody in need.
Jack was born Sept. 4th, 1938 in Morton WA. to Clarence and Maude Thompson He attended school in Morton where he met his future wife Helen daughter of Hershel and Ruby Pigman, he spent most of his career as a Shake Sawyer and 20 years as a Self Employed Contractor, after retirement he took great pride in working at the Harbor Car Wash in Aberdeen.
Jack had a lively sense of humor, he enjoyed working with wood, loved Hunting, Fishing, Shellfish harvesting and was well known for his Homemade Clam Chowder, smoked meats, fish and other fine Northwest cuisine, he always had a honey hole for little wild blackberries. He also enjoyed traveling the states with Helen but loved the Pacific Northwest best.
He leaves behind his wife Helen of 55 years, sons John of Westport, Bob of Pacific and his wife Heather, two sisters Bonnie Martin and husband Bill of Packwood, Ila Bagley of Tacoma, Mother in Law Ruby Thorton, Grandsons Josh and Cody Savage, and Granddaughter Paige, he was proceeded in Death by his loving daughter Angie, Brother Don “Dux” Thompson and many family and friends.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 26th 2014, in Fern Hill Funeral Home at 11 a.m with a reception to follow at the Cosmopolis Lions Club from 1-3 p.m. We are asking that donations be made to Seattle's Children's Orthopedic Hospital, a message of condolence or a memory can be left for the family at Fernhillfuneral.com. as they have been entrusted with this service.
Jack is now making his family and friends smile and laugh in heaven.
