Melissa Rose Taylor, 60, a resident of Elma, died at Providence St. Peter Hospital, Olympia, Sunday, October 9, 2016. She was born in Aberdeen, October 27, 1955, the daughter of Donald and Kathleen (McAffee) Taylor. She was raised in Mossyrock and Elma, graduating from Elma High School in 1974.
Melissa had worked in an office for the State of Alaska in Fife, WA, then transferring to Juneau, AK in 1979. Besides working for the state, she also drove tour bus for a cruise line and school bus for the Juneau School District. She returned to Elma to live two years ago.
She belonged to the Catholic Church and enjoyed going to the movies, travelling and sightseeing. She also was an animal lover and was kind hearted, always trusting of others.
Melissa is survived by two aunts, Karon Strada, Cosmopolis and Margorie Davy, North Dakota;
and two uncles: Dale and Thomas McAffee in California; her good friends, Deanna Meister, Carolyn Howard, Polly Pittman, Betty Boley, Janice Huttula; and her three cats, Chico, Allie and Keesha. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Gary Taylor.
A celebration of her life will be held from 2 to 4PM, Saturday, November 5th at the McCleary Community Center, McCleary, WA.
