Narlene ‘Jean’ Faye Tarnowski, 79, longtime Aberdeen resident and former Home Repossession and Sales Agent for Metropolitan Mortgage, died at her home in Aberdeen on Thursday, September 13, 2012.

Jean was born on December 6, 1932 in Mt. Vernon, WA to Ardelbert Raymond and Ada Isabelle (Hauenstein) Gillette. She attended schools in Mt. Vernon and came to Aberdeen in 1963.

Jean worked as a waitress and bartender most of her life including the Hoquiam Eagles, Hoquaim Elks, Hoquiam VFW, Duffy’s #1 and The Nordic Inn. She then went to work for Metropolitan Mortgage Co. of Spokane, Wa here in Aberdeen specializing in home repossessions and making them ready for sale.

Jean married Tony Tarnowski for the last time in 1976 in Burlington, WA. He died in 1989.

Jean was a lifetime member of the Hoquiam Eagles Aerie 252 and loved to go fishing, working in her garden and doing crochet.

Jean is survived by a son Tony and his wife Romea Tarnowski of Aberdeen; three daughters, Deborah and husband Louie Kaarvand, Lori and husband Rodger Cassat and Janet and husband Donald Acheson all of Aberdeen; Eight Grandchildren and Seven Great Grandchildren; a sister Janet Gaspard of Bellevue, WA. She was preceded in death by a sister Gail Grandy.
