Carol Lorraine ‘Bunny’ Such, 76, longtime Aberdeen resident and former housekeeper at St. Joseph Hospital in Aberdeen, died Sunday morning, January 8, 2017 at her home in Aberdeen.
Bunny, as she was called since age 3 days, was born on March 20, 1940 in Chehalis, WA to Theodore and Milda ‘Mia’ (Rockwood) Puckett. They moved to Raymond where Bunny graduated from Raymond High School in 1958.
Later that year on October 24th, Bunny married Dennis Such in Brookings, OR. He passed away on Feb. 9, 2014.
They moved to Aberdeen in 1965 where Bunny went to work for St. Joseph Hospital until it merged with Community Hospital in late 80’s. She substitute taught with the Special Education Department of Aberdeen School District and for the last 10 years, volunteered at the Hoquiam Clothing Bank.
She was a member of the Aberdeen Eagles Ladies Auxiliary, The Beta Club and the local CB’ers Club. She enjoyed traveling, rodeos and occasional trips to Hawaii and Alaska.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Traci Such of Aberdeen; stepson, Dennis (Gina) Such of Ketchikan, AK and a stepdaughter, Kathleen (Walt) Hewson of Annette Island, AK; sisters, Sherree (Bud) Dodd of Montesano and Randi (Bob) Hubbard of Central Park, WA; a foster brother, Bill Conley of Aberdeen; three grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
There will be a funeral service for Bunny on Saturday, January 14th at 11 AM in Fern Hill Funeral Home’s Chapel, followed by interment in Fern Hill Cemetery, Aberdeen. Reception location will be announced at services and will be potluck.
