Richard Seaman

Richard ‘Dick’ Allen Seaman, 88, Aberdeen resident and former Chaplain for the Aberdeen Fire Dept., died Sunday, December 4, 2022, at Pacific Care Center in Hoquiam, WA.

Richard was born on January 28, 1934, in National City, California to Watson Kimblinger and Doreathea Pearl (Minshall) Seaman. Dick was raised in Escondido and Pacific Beach, CA and graduated from Escondido High School in 1952. He then attended San Diego State University for a year before joining the United States Air Force in 1953 and served as a photographer on a spy plane in Korea during the Korean Conflict. He was then stationed at Manhattan Beach AFB, Brooklyn, NY. He was honorably discharged in 1957. He then graduated from San Fran State University in 1958 with an Electrical Engineering degree.

He went to work for Lockheed Aerospace, Missiles and Space Co. for 14 years. He then went to work for himself in his “Speed Shop” doing brakes, Front ends; HE then went to work for Litton Corp in College Park, Maryland 1972-73 and 1977-79. Dick went to New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary from 1973-77. Upon graduation, he went to work for Martin-Marietta in New Orleans, then California and lastly Denver. He retired in 1990 and moved to Aberdeen. Dick married Charlene Ryan on June 29, 1979, in New Orleans. LA. She resides at the family home in Aberdeen. Dick was Chaplain for the fire dept, helping families when needed and also the firefighters in time of need. He also preached at Stafford Creek Correctional Center and at the county and city jails. He was also the Senior Information Assistance case manager and retired in 1999. He was a member of Harbor Assembly of God Church in Hoquiam and the NRA. Dick is survived by his wife of 43 years, Charlene Seaman of Aberdeen; a son Edward Seaman of Denver, CO; two daughters: Cynthia Teichmann of Sierra Madre, CA and Robyn Cudd of Fredericksburg, VA; a sister Elizabeth Marie Hale of Chewelah, WA; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

There will be a celebration of life for Dick on Thursday, December 15th at 11 AM at Harbor Assembly of God Church in Hoquiam. Dick will be inurned at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA.
