Gladys A. Schuldt, 95, a longtime resident of the Harbor, died at Grays Harbor Community Hospital, Aberdeen, Saturday, March 28, 2015. She was born in Lakefield, Minnesota on July 1, 1919, the daughter of Fred and Esther (Streed) Johnson.
She graduated from Lakefield High School and had lived in Oakland, CA before coming to Aberdeen in 1946. She married Verne Schuldt in Aberdeen on November 3, 1946 and he died here August 15, 2009.
Gladys had worked for the Washington State Employment Security Department as an interviewer and retired in 1980. After her retirement they traveled to Alaska, Hawaii and Europe.
She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church and was an active member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Aberdeen as long as she was able. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, embroidery and working with flowers.
She is survived by two daughters: Cheryl (Jim) Rupp, East Wenatchee, WA and Marilyn (Eric) Cummings, Oregon City, OR; a sister: Vernice Regan, Magalia, CA; and also 2 grandchidren, 3 step-grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by six brothers: Kenneth, Alfred, Wallace, David, Merton and Everett Johnson. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Friday, April 10th at Calvary Lutheran Church, Aberdeen. Reverend Dan Vines will officiate. Vault interment will take place in Fern Hill Cemetery.
