Bart Stapley Rymer 66 years, passed away April 28, 2014 in Aberdeen, Washington. He was born October 30, 1947 in Delta, Utah to Norman and Velma (Stapley) Rymer.
He was raised in various towns in Utah before moving to Aberdeen in 1964. He graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1966. He served an LDS Church Mission to Perth, Australia for two years. After returning to Aberdeen, he joined the US Army and served in Korea during the Vietnam War era. After leaving the military he returned to Aberdeen and started working for Weyerhaeuser Sawmill and worked there for 38 years until retiring in 2009 shortly after the mill closed.
He married Sherry Marie Thompson on May 9, 1972 in the LDS Manti, Utah Temple. They have been married for 41 years and have lived in Aberdeen the whole time. They are the parents of two children.
Bart loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, & camping. He liked western movies, computer games, chess and building things.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Veann Handrahan. He is survived by his wife Sherry of Aberdeen, daughter Kathleen Rymer also of Aberdeen and son Eric (Brandy) Rymer of Port Townsend, Washington.
Grandson Stephen Rymer and step granddaughter Alexandra Solomon both of Port Townsend. Brothers, Curt Rymer of Aberdeen and Norman Dan Rymer of Utah. Sisters, Bernida Sessions, Paula Bivins, & Ranae Rhinehart all of Utah.
There will be a time of visitation and viewing on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. with a graveside service at 12:00 noon at Fern Hill Cemetery.
