Dennis Eric Rydman, 65, died suddenly, Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Mesa View Regional Hospital, Mesquite, NV. He was born March 8, 1949 in Aberdeen, Washington to Richard Eric and Frances Lee (Frazier) Rydman. On August 15, 1970 he married Kathryn Ann Krause in Aberdeen. They had two sons and were later divorced. On September 4, 1987 he married Jacquelyn Ann Hill in St. Petersburg, FL.
Dennis lived most of his life in Washington. He enjoyed his schooling at the St. Martins High School and College, Lacey, WA. He grew up in a fishing family and loved the industry. With hard work, ingenuity, and a gregarious personality, he rose from fishing off the coast of Washington and Alaska to CEO / President of Ocean Gold Seafoods, Inc., based in Westport, Washington. He was respected and appreciated by his employees, business partners and other industry executives.
In 2010, he semi-retired to Mesquite, NV where he enjoyed 4-wheelin’ in the desert, playing blackjack and time with family. He was able to balance a successful career while being close with his wife and children. He was devoted to caring for his wife as she endured breast cancer treatments for over a year. He will be remembered with love and admiration.
Survivors include his wife Jackie Rydman, Mesquite; three sons, Mark (Holly), Olympia, WA, Eric (Courtney), Bay City, WA, and Ross (Mandy), Las Vegas, NV; a brother: Richard (Cathy), Othello, WA; and two sisters: Penny (Kirk) Jones, Bainbridge, WA and Lynda (Robert) Patterson, San Diego, CA. There are also 7 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 2pm at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Aberdeen. A reception will follow at the Rotary Log Pavilion. Private interment will be in the Fern Hill Cemetery, Aberdeen.
