Lawrence Relich Jr., 60, lifetime Aberdeen resident and former millworker at Grays Harbor Paper in Hoquiam, died Saturday, September 15, 2012 at his home in Aberdeen.
John was born on September 18, 1951 in Hoquiam to John Lawrence and Neva M. (Julian) Relich Sr.
He graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1969 and then attended Grays Harbor College. He later went to work for Grays Harbor Paper where he worked for 20 years until its closure 2 years ago.
On June 2, 1984 John married Debbie Lynn Branshaw at The Poulsen Museum in Hoquiam. They were the second couple to be wed there. After they were married they spent the next thirty years residing on Evans Hill, surrounded by great friends, where they raised their daughter Taylor.
John was a die-hard NHRA fan who loved the smell and the sounds of the drag races. He also enjoyed playing on his fender guitar and making everyone around him laugh and smile with his witty sense of humor.
John is survived by his wife of 28 years, Debbie Relich of Aberdeen; daughter Taylor Relich who attends college in San Diego, CA; and sister, Diane Young of Ashland, OR.
A celebration of life barbecue will take place at the neighboring residence of Terry and Melissa Kost on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 1:00 pm (Relich address is 1709 S. Tilden Street Aberdeen).
