Sara Ellen Reid, 95, former resident of Helena, Montana and long time Journal Clerk for the Montana State Legislature, died Monday, January 21, 2013 at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen, Washington.
Sara was born on April 16, 1917 in Helena, MT to James Bowser and Marguerite Gwendolyn (Flacker) Lombard. She lived many places during her lifetime including Oregon, Montana, California, Utah, and Washington. She moved to Olympia, WA in 2004 to be near her daughter.
Sara married Kenneth Cecil Reid in 1939 and together they built three homes in Helena. Kenneth passed away in 1985. Sara enjoyed bowling, golfing, sewing, fishing, rides in her beloved mountains, traveling, and playing bridge.
Sara is survived by her daughter, Marlene and husband Don Vahl of Montesano, WA; a brother, James Lombard and wife, Betty of Philipsburg, MT; two grandsons: Benjamin and wife Melissa Vahl and Nathan and wife Tone Vahl; great grandchildren: Sydney, Eliot, and David Vahl.
At her request, there will be no services. Sara will be inurned with her parents at the historic Forestvale Cemetery, Helena, Montana.
