Douglas Arthur Raub, 51, former Aberdeen resident, died at a Portland, Oregon hospital Monday, December 2, 2013. He was born in Aberdeen, February 25, 1962.
Doug was a kind and caring partner, dedicated son, loyal brother, uncle and friend. He was generous in sharing his time and carpentry expertise with others, even in his own time of need. Ever the outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and foraging mushrooms. His caring smile and laughter will be missed.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, mushroom picking and summers at the family summer home.
Doug is survived by his mother and stepfather: Lorena and Mikko Koski, Hoquiam and his father: Jack C. Raub, Humptulips; his longtime companion, Linda L. Graves, Portland; a brother: Jack L. Raub, Humptulips; two sisters: Kimberly Dufrey, Cayucos, CA and Kristiina (Eric) Huckabay, Seattle; and three nieces: Tiphany Lopez, Emma Raub and Kaija Huckabay.
Visitation will be held from 1-8 PM Friday, Dec. 6th at Fern Hill Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, Dec 7th at the funeral home. Reverend Larry Dublanko, pastor of the Cornerstone Community Church, will officiate. A reception will follow in the Dorothy Mann Reception Hall at the funeral home. An interment service will be held in Sunset Memorial Park, Hoquiam.
