Mary Castro Quidachay, age 75, a Hoquiam, Washington resident passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington.
Mary was born on May 11, 1949, to Jose Castro and Efigenia Sablan Castro in Tamuning, Guam. Mary met Manuel Quidachay. They married and had 5 beautiful children: Rose, Manuel, Michael, Robert, and Christine.
Mary loved to keep busy, she had more energy than most. She took pleasure in gardening, but her true passion lay in antique collecting. She loved going to yard sales, and various thrift stores and antique stores to find her treasures. Mary was a devoted sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. She had a fondness for holistic healing, her granddaughter gave her the title of AAD, “almost a doctor’” because of her knowledge of herbs and remedies to help relieve symptoms and care for her family and friends. Mary was a kind and beautiful soul who will be forever loved, cherished, and missed beyond measure.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents: Jose and Efigenia Castro; and her brother, John Castro.
Mary is survived by her children: Manuel Quidachay (Christine Quitugua), of Guam; Michael Quidachay and Robert Quidachay, both of Texas; Rose (John) Cruz, of Colorado; and Christine Quidachay, of Colorado; brothers: Joseph Castro, of Hoquiam, Washington; and Bill Castro, of Guam; sister-in-law, Marilyn Castro, of Texas; as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
