Anneliese Purdy, 81, a 57 year resident of the Harbor, died at Pacific Care Center, Hoquiam, Wednesday, September 2, 2015. She was born in Munich, Germany November 11, 1933, the daughter of Herman and Anna Marie (Darchinger) Reischl.
Anneliese came to the United States and Arlington, WA in 1950 and graduated from Arlington High School in 1951. She would attend Eastern Washington State College and Everett General Hospital School of Nursing and receive a degree in registered nursing in 1955.
In 1956 she married Delbert Seymour Purdy in Seattle. Delbert passed away at an early age in 1972 in Aberdeen. Anneliese was a registered nurse at Grays Harbor Community Hospital and would continue until she retired in 1998.
Anneliese was a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Hoquiam and loved to keep her fingers busy doing crochet work.
She is survived by a daughter: Tamara Bingham, Montesano; five grandchildren: Samantha Brunner, Michelle Sieg, Anneliese, Brianna and Kaitlyn Purdy; and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Bryan D. Purdy in 2013 and a sister, Friedel.
A celebration of her life will be held at 2 PM, Friday, September 11th at Immanuel Baptist Church, 1200 Soule St., Hoquiam. Pastor Kent Gravley will officiate. Private inurnment will have taken place with her husband in Fern Hill Cemetery, Aberdeen.
The family suggests memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church, Hoquiam.
