David Lee Proctor, 69, a lifetime resident of Hoquiam and retired Longshoreman for the Port of Grays Harbor, died Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at Rainier Vista Care Center in Puyallup, WA. David was born on December 5, 1943 in Aberdeen to Harold and Phyllis (Jasper) Proctor. He graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1963.
He worked with his dad as a painter for McCullough Painters. He also was a gill-netter and owned his own boat the “Little r”. He retired in 2006 as a Longshoreman for the ILWU, long shoring at the Port of Grays Harbor.
David was married to Linda De Moss(Weber). They later divorced. He then married Marilyn Jefferies. She passed away on May 2, 2001. David then married Florence De Vore on August 27, 2004 in Montesano, WA.
David was active with Long Live the Kings, the cancer Relay For Life for many years. He also liked to fish, hunt, travel, watch Nascar Races, and enjoyed the Mariners and Seahawks.
David is survived by his wife, Florence in Aberdeen; Son, David H. and wife Tanya Proctor of Sammamish, WA; daughters: Kristine Wells of Aberdeen and Kerri and husband Rocky Dombroski of Gilbert, AZ; a stepson Shaun and wife Jodi Jefferies of Aberdeen; a sister Connie and husband Richard Frost of Yuma, AZ; four grandchildren: Jagger, Ryder, Jackson and Zachary. David is also survived by three stepchildren,10 step-grandchildren, 3step-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. David was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Michael Proctor.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Dave will be from 1 to 4 PM Tuesday, August 27Th at St Andrews Episcopal Church, Aberdeen.
