William Priamos Jr

William Pete ‘Bill’ Priamos, Jr., 82, former owner and baker of Bill’s XL Donut Shop in Hoquiam, passed away Monday morning, July 1, 2024 at his home in Montesano.

Bill was born on December 10, 1941 in Seattle, WA to William Pete and Edna Adeline (Mjelde) Priamos, Sr. When he was 13, his parents purchased Link’s Bakery in Hoquiam and changed the name to XL Bakery.

In his early years, Bill worked for many of the radio stations on the harbor, KHOK, KBKW, KXRO and others. He graduated from Hoquiam High School in 1960 and then attended Grays Harbor College. He then went to Clover Park Vocational/Technical School in Tacoma and specialized in Broadcast Radio. He then went to work for KAPA in Raymond, WA.

On June 26, 1965, Bill married Patricia Mae Porter in Hoquiam. She resides at the family home in Montesano.

Bill went to work at Swanson’s and then got a job at Mayfair Market in Tacoma.

When his father got ill, Bill and his family moved back to the harbor to help his mother with the shop. They changed the name to Bill’s XL Bakery and Bill operated the shop until his retirement in 2006.

Bill was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Hoquiam. He enjoyed playing pinocle and other card games.

Bill is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia Priamos of Montesano; two sons: Cary Allen (Anna) Priamos of Aberdeen and Christopher Michael Priamos of Hoquiam; two daughters: Carmen (Steve) Wilkinson of North Stonington, CT and Cherise Frederickson of Montesano; Nine Grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

There will be a celebration of Life on Saturday, July 6th at 2 PM in Immanuel Baptist Church in Hoquiam. Bill will be inurned with his father at Sunset Memorial Park in Hoquiam.
