Lifelong Harbor resident, Byron Paul Philbrick, died at his home at Elma, Tuesday, November 12, 2013. He was 69. Byron was born in Aberdeen, December 15, 1943, the son of Byron F. and Dorothy (Tice) Philbrick. He joined the Army at the age of 17 and then graduated from Garrett Hines High School in Shelton.
Byron had worked for Grays Harbor Paper Co. for 25 years. He had been a Lennox operator. When the mill shut down, he took training and became a truck driver for Schaben & Westling, and Trailer Service Co., retiring in 2000 due to an injury.
He had been a member of the Eagles and also enjoyed going to casinos, working in his yard, gardening, camping and fishing.
Byron is survived by his companion of 25 years, Mary Loveless, Elma; a son: Michael Philbrick, Federal Way; a step-son: Jerry Loveless, Portland, OR; two daughters: Mandy Borden, Raymond and Danielle Meneely, Central Park; a step-daughter: Julie Hyde, Olympia; two brothers: John Philbrick, Sr., in Alabama and Glen Harp, Aberdeen. There are also six grandchildren. A sister, Laurel, and a brother, Michael, died before him.
A potluck gathering of family and friends will be held starting at 2 PM, Saturday, November 23rd at the home of Danielle Meneely, 112 Reynvaan Dr., Aberdeen (Central Park).
