Mary E. Peterson, 87, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Saturday, November 12, 2011, at Grays Harbor Community Hospital, Aberdeen. She was born in Scio, OR, July 8, 1924, the daughter of Casmond and Maggie (Foote) Miller.
She was married to James E. Peterson in Montesano, April 21, 1951 and they made their home in Aberdeen. James died here March 6, 1993.
Mary had worked at the Smoke Shop in downtown Aberdeen for many years and retired upon the business closing. She enjoyed gardening, canning and also doing needlework and word search puzzles.
She is survived by a brother: George Miller, Lebanon, OR; 2 sons: Harold and wife, Dorothy, and Dan; a daughter: Patricia and husband, Jon Hubacka, all of Aberdeen; and also 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Besides her husband, James, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Frances, in 2007.
A graveside inurnment will be held at 1 PM Friday, November 18th in Fern Hill Cemetery, Aberdeen.
