Catherine Louise Papp, 68, lifetime Taholah resident and Quinault nation member, died Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen.
Catherine was born on February 15, 1946 in Aberdeen to Everett and Alice (Cole) Masten. She grew up in Taholah and graduated from Chilaco High School in Chilaco, OLK. in 1964.
On October 12, 1965, Catherine married Daniel G. Papp in Ocean City, WA. He survives at the family home.
Catherine worked as a billing agent for Roger Saux Health Center in Taholah from 1985 to 97. She also answered phones at the Bureau of Indian Affairs when needed. She was a member of Bible Lighthouse Church in Taholah and when she was younger she enjoyed bowling and golf.
Catherine is survived by her husband of 48 years, Daniel G. Papp, Sr. of Taholah; three sons: Gary L. and wife Karen Papp of Elma, Daniel G. Papp Jr. of Taholah and nelson E. and wife Mary Papp of Hoquiam; brothers: Everett and Greg Masten of Aberdeen and Tray Masten of Taholah; Sisters: Ann Masten of Lake Quinault, Patricia Thomas of CA, Everetta Corwin and Alena Lopez both of Moclips, WA; five grandchildren: Samuel Brougher, Jeremy Brougher, Krissa Papp, Kammi Papp and David Papp; two great-grandchildren: Amelia Brougher and Natasha Papp. Catherine was preceded in death by two sons: David and Larry Papp.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday, July 5th at 10:00 AM at the Bible Lighthouse Church in Taholah, WA.
