Arlayne Odle a life time resident of Ocosta, Washington passed away on October 8, 2012 with her daughters by her side. She was born October 10, 1929 in Markham, Washington. She is preceded in death by her father Clarence (Bud) Matthews, her mother Esther (Gotchy) Persson and her husband Eldon Claude Odle. Eldon and Arlayne were married on September 19, 1950 in Grayland, Washington.
Arlayne graduated from Ocosta High School in 1948 and from Grays Harbor Community College with a degree in liberal Arts in 1950. Arlayne was a contestant in the 1948 Miss Twin Harbors Beach pageant. She worked for many years in Westport as a waitress and later as a crab shaker. She retired from Washington Crab Producers at age 62. She was a member of the choir and served on the board for Twin Harbors Baptist Church for many years.
She supported the Ocosta School District athletic programs and was a past president of the PTA. Arlayne is survived by her five daughters Barbara (Dale) Rasmus of Ocosta, Charmon Odle of Tacoma, Diane (Russell) Raymond of Menlo, Leslee Odle of Grayland and Debra (Eric) Parsons of Grayland; sister Shirley Horton of Westport; her niece Renee Goldsby, Jan Yenne, and nephew Michael Horton; ten grandchildren; Steven, Bryan, Arlynn, Garrett, Kyle, Jennifer, Courtney, Shane, Haleigh and Lindsey; and twelve great grand children.
A Celebration of her life will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday October 20, 2012 at the Living Hope Baptist Church at 617 So. Forrest Street, Westport, Washington. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Ocosta High School Athletic Department.
