Josephine Nunez

Josephine Garcia Nunez, 98 years old, passed away on July 16, 2023, in Elma, Washington. She was born in Bisbee Arizona. She was the daughter of David and Nellie Garcia.

She was a wonderful Mother and devoted to her children. She was a cook in several restaurants in

Bisbee. She was well known for her delicious pies. She loved gardening, writing, and studying the bible.

She relocated to McCleary, Washington in 1981. She was a member of The Assembly of God Church in

McCleary where she served faithfully for several years. She was honored for the clothing bank she set up

in McCleary. Numerous people were blessed by her ministry of giving. She was a prayer warrior and a

servant to all. Her love for Christ compelled her to care for the people of McCleary.

She is survived by her children: Raymond Nunez, Monica (Harvey) Sterkenburg, Barbara (Jerry) Morton,

Christina (Javier) Verdugo, Terri (Rick) Warner; 17 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; and 8 great

great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her son Rueben Nunez; her daughter In-law, Alice Nunez, and grandson,

Richie Nunez.

A “Celebration of Life” will be held on Sunday, August 6, 2023, at 3:00 PM located at the McCleary Rock

Harbor Church, 208 W. Pine Street, McCleary Washington. Arrangements have been entrusted to
