Ella Beatrice Myers, 103, a resident of Grays Harbor for a dozen years, died Friday November 6, 2013 at Grays Harbor Health and Rehab in Aberdeen. Ella was born April 6, 1910 in Talmo, Kansas to Issac Charles and Mary (Eggers) Sherman. At the age of 4 her father died and her Mother married John Henning. The two combined their families and moved to Medical Lake, WA.
There Ella attended a one room school, grades one through twelve and graduated grade 12 at the age of 16 in 1925.
In 1929, Ella married Willard W. Moles in Wenatchee, WA. He passed away in 1951. In 1952 she met and married Leslie Myers and they settled in Cordova, Alaska where they owned and operated the Cordova Hotel from 1953 until 1968. They left Alaska for British Columbia for a few years, moving on to Burien, WA and eventually settling in Sequim,WA for a number of years before moving to Shelton where Leslie passed away in 1992.
Ella then moved to Seattle to live with her daughter, and traveled back and forth between Seattle and Phoenix where her grand daughter resided. In 1996 she moved to Channel Point in Hoquiam and then to Harbour Point Shores in 2003. Ella just recently moved to Aberdeen due to poor health.
Ella enjoyed gardening and was a Master Gardener. She excelled as a seamstress and often made cloths for her daughter and sewed for others to supplement the families income. She enjoyed camping and fly fishing, a skill she learned from her first husband.
Ella had four children. Gerald Moles who proceeded her in death, Charlotte Parks of Hoquiam, Roxy Estes and William Myers,stepchildren of Cordova Alaska. 13 grandchildren, numerous great and great great grandchildren.She was preceeded in death by four brothers, Carl,Walter John and Clarence Henning as well as 2 sisters Hilda Marr and Emma Sherman, son Gerald, grandson Jerry Estes and great.granddaughter Tiffany Peterson Cohen as well as two husbands.
