Michael Arnold “Mike” Mundy, 49, Aberdeen resident and computer technician, died Monday afternoon, August 19, 2013 at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen.
Mike was born on March 28, 1964 in Spokane, Washington to Marion ‘Bill’ and Marian J. (Herbert) Mundy. Mike was raised by his grandparents, Earl and Lillian Herbert, for the first couple of years. He moved to South Bend in 1975 and then to Aberdeen in 1980. In 1982 he graduated from Weatherwax High School and then proceeded to get his Associate of Arts from Grays Harbor College. He then spent a year at Pacific Lutheran.
In 1986, Mike fell in love with Melisa C. Ward. They were married on December 21, 2006 in Aberdeen.
Mike was a self-employed computer technician. He had also worked for Lamb’s Grays Harbor as a fork lift operator and at JC Penny’s.
Mike loved to paint miniature figurines, was an avid reader and was very knowledgeable in a variety of subjects. He especially liked to talk about space exploration.
Mike is survived by his wife Melisa of Aberdeen; his mother Marian Noggles of Aberdeen and two sisters.
There will be a celebration of Mike’s life, Noon, Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Fern Hill Funeral Home.
