Olive Laurie Morley, 96, a lifetime resident of the Harbor, died at Westhaven Villa, Aberdeen, Saturday, September 26, 2015. She was born in Aberdeen on August 19, 1919, the daughter of Laurie O. and Blanche J. (Bent) Fielding.
Olive graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1936 and then DeWitt Beauty School in Aberdeen. She and her mother operated a beauty shop in Pacific Beach during World War Two.
She had married Vern Morley in Montesano in 1938 and they would later make their home in Aberdeen. Olive was a homemaker and raised the children. She would also clerk at Sears and Penneys. Vern died in Aberdeen in 1992.
She loved her dogs and always had some dogs about the home.
Olive is survived by a son: Don Morley, Aberdeen; a daughter: Jeanette Knutson, Elma; and also 3 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and 3 great great grandchildren. A sister, Elaine Lauterback, preceded her in death.
A funeral service will take place at 2 PM Sunday, October 4th, in the chapel at Fern Hill Funeral Home. A reception will follow in the Dorothy Mann Reception Room at the funeral home. Private burial will take place in Fern Hill Cemetery.
