Daniel Moralez

December 14, 1950 — March 31, 2016

Daniel Joseph Moralez, 65, a resident of Ocean Shores, died at his home there Thursday, March 31, 2016. Dan was born December 14, 1950 in Butte, MT, the son of Arturo and Frances L. (Shinn) Moralez. He was raised in Butte and graduated from Butte High School in 1969. He also attended University of Montana for two years.

Dan was an electrician by trade and worked in mines in Butte, Montana, for Anaconda Company, Anamax Mining Co. in Tucson, AZ and then ColoWyo Coal Company in Craig, CO. He retired from ColoWyo 2006. He continued as an instructor at Colorado Northwestern Community College in Craig before retiring to Ocean Shores in 2008.

He enjoyed socializing at the Pirates Cove in Ocean Shores, drinking iced tea and making erveryone around him laugh. On Sunday evening he called Bingo at the Pirates Cove. In his eight years in Ocean Shores he had truly become a great friend to many people of the community. Dan was an exceptional father and grandparent and will be missed greatly.

He was a member of the Ocean Shores Elks Lodge and the National Rifle Association.

Dan loved his grandkids and family reunions in Montana, Texas and Colorado.

He is survived by a daughter: Melissa Moralez, Denver, CO; two sons: Christopher and wife Audrey Moralez, Midland, TX and Wesley Moralez, Denver; his girlfriend: Cathy Cooper, Redmond, WA; 4 brothers: Arthur, Robert, Larry and Edward; a ½ brother: Matthew; 6 sisters: Rose, Mary, Ramona, Rita, Carmen and Tino; a ½ sister: Bernie; and three grandchildren: Taylor, Ty and Micah Moralez. Dan was preceded in death by an infant daughter: Misty Moralez.

The family will be taking Dan back home.
