Warwick Maxfield

March 4, 1962 — September 9, 2011

Warwick Jesse “Max” Maxfield, 49, passed away suddenly at Chehalis, WA on September 9, 2011. Max was born March 4, 1962 in Port Angeles, WA, the son of Dudley and Dinah (Cox) Maxfield.

He was raised in Forks, WA and directly out of school joined the Air Force, serving as a firefighter. After his discharge in 1983 he worked in Forks and Port Angeles as an EMT, later moving to Hobart, Indiana, working as a firefighter. He then moved to Michigan where he worked for the Michigan State Prison System.

In 2006 Max moved back to Washington and rekindled his relationship with his high school sweetheart, Debbie (Burge) Kola. The couple married in 2008 and made their home in Hoquiam where he worked at both the Grays Harbor Juvenile Detention Center and Harbor Pacific Bottling Co.

Max was an avid outdoorsman, his passion being hunting, fishing and spending time with friends and family.

Besides his loving wife, Debbie, at the family home in Hoquiam, Max is survived by his parents: Dudley and Dinah Maxfield, Port Angeles; a son: Jesse and wife Rachel of Indiana; two daughters: Stephanie Maxfield, in Indiana and Lynsey Maxfield in Michigan; a step-son, Bobby Kola, Hoquiam; an extended family: Austin “Skippy” Bull and Bill Bull, both of Hoquiam; two sisters: Raewyn Smasal, Port Angeles and Jane Maxfield, Port Angeles two brothers: Gary and wife Whitney, Port Hadlock, WA and Wayne and wife Christine, Forks; and also his very special grandma, Elsie Motteler, Walla Walla; and three grandkids: Zoey, Zach and Maddie.

A pot-luck celebration of Max’s life will be held at 1 PM Saturday, September 17th at the VFW Hall in Forks.
