Mark Joseph Hensel, 57, lifetime Aberdeen resident and former grocer passed away on November 7, 2024, at his home in Aberdeen, Washington.
Mark was born on August 11, 1967, in Aberdeen, Washington to parents, Manfred and Christine (Dradrach) Hensel. Mark was born and raised in Grays Harbor, graduating from Weatherwax Aberdeen High School in 1985. Mark enlisted in the Washington State National Guard, where he served as a gunner and tack commander for 11 years. Shortly after school, on October 1, 1988, he married his wife Donna Wollschleger in Long Beach, Washington. Mark began working with Swanson’s Grocery in 1989, where he spent the next 30. After 30 years of marriage, Donna passed away on March 1, 2018. In February 2024, Mark left work due to health issues.
Mark was a member of the Grocers Union and a past master and lifetime member of the Concord Grand Lodge No. 273 F & AM of Montesano, Washington. He enjoyed fishing and driving his Jeep. Mark loved to spend time with his wife and friends. He and Donna would take the jeep out around the Pacific Northwest Beaches, they also enjoyed watching “Kelly’s Heroes”.
Mark is preceded in death by his wife of 30 years, Donna Hensel; and parents, Manfred and Christine Hensel. Mark is survived by his brother, Grant Hensel, of Aberdeen, Washington.
