Ted LeeRoy Marcy, 75, a longtime Aberdeen resident and former Chief Electrician for Weyerhaeuser Mill in South Aberdeen, died Friday afternoon, February 10, 2012 at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen.
Ted was born on January 17, 1937 in Cottage Grove, Oregon to Earl and Lillian (Smith) Marcy. He graduated from high school in 1955 and then did some technical training.
In 1958, he went to work for Weyerhaeuser and retied in 2000.
On December 31, 1976, Ted married Margie Jean Gus. She resides at the family home.
Ted liked to go fishing, hunting and camping. He also enjoyed bowling and was past secretary of his bowling league.
Ted is survived by his wife of 35 years, Margie Marcy of Aberdeen; two sons, Joseph and his wife Bobbie Jean of Orting, WA and Jerry Marcy of Aberdeen; a daughter, Kathryn Kinerk of Aberdeen, a sister, Juanita Barlow of Cottage Grove, OR; a stepson, Stephen Nolan of Olympia and a stepdaughter, Victoria Shock of Austin, TX; Six grandchildren, three step grandchildren, one great grandchild and five step great grandchildren. Ted was preceded in death by a stepson, Bradley John Nolan in 1968.
There will be a celebration of life for Ted on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 2:00 PM in Fern Hill Funeral Home. A reception will follow in The Dorothy Mann Reception Hall at Fern Hill. Ted will be inurned at Fern Hill Cemetery, Aberdeen.
