Richard E. Lovgren, 62, a longtime Harbor resident, died at his home near Montesano, Friday, December 19, 2014. He was born in Olympia on December 8, 1952, the son of Richard W. and Janice Adele (Peterson) Lovgren.
He graduated from Weatherwax High School, Aberdeen, in 1971 and joined the Army in 1972. Following his enlistment, he also served in the Army Reserves.
Richard was a brick mason starting work with his father and later on construction in Washington and California.
He was good at dance and had assisted Arlene Hoiland with her dance classes. He was also a member of the Dance Club of Grays Harbor.
Richard is survived by his father: Richard W. Lovgren and his step-mother, Joanne Witt-Lovgren, Tumwater; two brothers: Douglas, Montesano and Carl, Aberdeen; and a sister: Kristi Hensley, Port Townsend, WA.
A memorial service will be held at 1 PM Saturday, February 28th, at the Aberdeen Elks Lodge, 1712 S. Boone St., Aberdeen with a dance to follow.
