Lawrence Earl Loveless, 102, lifetime Aberdeen resident and former construction worker and author, died Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Grays Harbor Health & rehab Center in Aberdeen.
Lawrence was born on December 5, 1911 in Aberdeen to Albert and Alice (Jacobson) Loveless. He attended school in Aberdeen.
He worked at Aberdeen Plywood, Harbor Plywood and West Coast Plywood. He then worked at various construction companies on the harbor. He also helped reclaim lumber for use in other projects in the community. He retired in 1973.
On July 6, 1936, Lawrence married Helen Blahut in Montesano. She died in 1989.
Lawrence was a member of the Laborers Union #252 here in Aberdeen. He loved to go fishing, antique collecting and tearing down old buildings. He also enjoyed restoring old cars, especially Model T’s. Every night he would smoke a 1/2 of a cigar and have some beer.
Lawrence is survived by two sons: Larry Loveless and Gary Loveless of Hoquiam; two daughters: Joanne and husband Ken Nesset of Mt. Vernon, WA and Patricia and Husband Lance Jenkins of Brooklyn, WA; Several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Bobby Loveless in 2006.
There will be a time of visitation and viewing for Lawrence on Monday, December 30th at Fern Hill Funeral Home from 1-5 PM. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 31st at 11 AM in Fern Hill Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Fern Hill Cemetery following.
