Ruth Elayne Leopard, 69, a lifetime Grays Harbor resident and former beautician, passed away on Friday, Aug, 25, 2023, at Harbor Regional Health in Aberdeen, Washington.

Ruth was born on Feb. 6, 1954 to Leo Wilder and Hazel (Dills) Wilder in Aberdeen. The family lived in the Montesano area. Ruth graduated from Montesano High School in 1972. After school, she went on to graduate from Grays Harbor Beauty College. She later met Frank Leopard and they married in November of 1973. The couple purchased their forever home in Aberdeen, where Ruth would spend the next 44 years. Ruth and Frank had two children: sons Frank Jr. and Scott. She worked as a beautician for many years, working out of her home, impacting the lives of her friends, family and community. Ruth also worked as a CNA, owned her own cleaning business and worked at Texaco for some time.

She took pleasure in gardening, planting flowers, scratch tickets, cooking and baking. She was famous for her Christmas goodie basket filled with lots of love and cookies. Her biggest enjoyments were playing bingo, picnics with her family and being with her grandchildren.

Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Leopard Sr., who passed away three short months ago; her parents, Leo and Hazel Wilder; 3 brothers and 6 sisters.

Ruth is survived by her children: Frank (Jeany) Leopard of Aberdeen, Washington and Scott Leopard of Aberdeen, Washington; mother-in-law, Donna Leopard of Montesano, Washington; brother-in-law, Bill Muhlhauser of Aberdeen, Washington; and 7 grandchildren: Jarred (Courtney), Patricia, Kaylee, Ethan, Cameron, Madison and Jorge.

A potluck celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 23, at 10 a.m. at Lake Sylvia.
