Patricia Lawrence Knox, 88, a five year resident of Grays Harbor, passed on quietly at her home in Montesano, Saturday, July 14, 2012, with her son, Chris Lawrence and her caregiver, Cynthia Hayes, at her side.
She was born in Fort Sumner, New Mexico, May 17, 1924, the daughter of John and Bessie (Hutchins) Lyle. At the age of 5 the family moved to Abilene, TX and then to Benton, TN when she was ten. She graduated from Benton High School in 1942 and went to Chattanooga, TN.
Patricia married Ernest Clarence Lawrence in Dalton, GA in 1943 and he died in Chattanooga in 1976. She married John Knox in Chattanooga in 1983 and they moved to Florida where he was a contractor in building condominiums. He died at Pembroke Pines, FL in 1987. Patricia continued to live there until coming to Satsop five years ago.
Her whole life she enjoyed her work as a waitress in restaurants in Tennessee and Florida.
Patricia was a member of Apostalic Well of Living Water, Satsop.
She is survived by her son, Chris Lawrence, Montesano; a daughter, Margaret Lawrence in Michigan; and also 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A son, Charles Lawrence, preceded her in death February 7, 2012.
