Marshal Garrick Jones, 29, Olympia resident and employee at Cabela’s in Hawks Prairie, WA, died, Thursday, October 18, 2018 at University of Washington Medical Center following a long battle with Cystic Fibrosis.
Marshal was born on February 18, 1989 in Chesapeake, Virginia to Jamie Lee and Gail Marie (Gregor) Jones. His family moved to Kitsap County where he went to school in Poulsbo, WA. During Jr. High, he went to be with his father in Wallace, Nebraska. It was during his Jr. year of high school that he returned to be with his mother in Seabeck, WA where he graduated from Klahowya Secondary School, Silverdale, WA in 2008.
He returned to the harbor and lived with his grandfather Ralph in Wishkah Valley. He worked for Sears and also at Ross for many years. For the last 18 months he lived with his Aunt Gena and Uncle Mike
while working at Cabela’s, a job he really enjoyed.
Marshal was a member of the Grays harbor YMCA and enjoyed playing recreational volleyball in Olympia. He loved playing with his dog “Tobi”, riding motorcycles, playing video games, camping, and being outdoors. He was a “Roadie” for the band “Deadbeat Blackout Band”.
Marshal is survived by his parents, Gail and John Howley of Seabeck, WA and Jamie and Terri Jones of North Platte, NE; a brother, John Kyle Howley of Seabeck, WA and a sister Tarah (Justin) Brooks of
Portsmouth, VA, sister Amber Friedrich of North Platte, NE and brother Andrew (Mikala) Friedrich of Gretna NE; grandparents: Ralph Gregor of Wishkah Valley, WA, Terri Swanson of Hoquiam, WA and Margaret Gregory of Greenville, NH; Aunts and uncles: Lisa and Jim Medley, Gena and Mike Uuereb, Joyanne and Todd Pinciaro, Renia and Lance Vervalen, Chris Cleveland, Sidney Shepard, Tom and Brenda Cleveland, Janet and Bill Harman, David Cleveland; Several cousins, especially Jeff Gilbert; His girlfriend,
Jordan Noel of Aberdeen. He was preceded in death by a Grandmother Shirley Gregor and Grandfather Jim Jones and Gramps Leroy Vervalen.
There will be a celebration of life held for Marshal on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Noon at the Wishkah Valley Community Church.
