Emma O. Hubert, 100, a resident of Aberdeen since 1927, died Tuesday morning, April 16, 2013 at BeeHive Assisted Living Community in McCleary, WA.
Emma was born on November 17, 1912 in Virginia, Minnesota to Edward and Anna (Lassila) Salo. She graduated from Virginia High School in 1927 and then moved to Bend, OR and then to Aberdeen, WA.
On September 3, 1930, Emma married Raymond Hubert in Montesano. He died in 1983.
Emma worked at Lamb Grays Harbor during WWII making land mines. She also worked in the cannery for Westcoast Seafoods and at Harbor Plywood in Hoquiam.
She was a member of Amazing Grace Lutheran Church in Aberdeen. She enjoyed sewing and gardening.
Emma is survived by a brother Michael Salo in Edmonds, WA; two grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter Lois Baulig and a sister Vienna Cessnun.
Emma was buried next to her husband Raymond at Fern Hill Cemetery, Aberdeen, WA. There will be no services.
