Lifetime resident of the Harbor, Dorothy L. Holm, died at her home in Aberdeen, Tuesday, February 16, 2016. She was 93.
Dorothy was born in Portland, Oregon on July 15, 1922, the daughter of Ike and Ethel (Lyon) Davis. She came with the family as a baby to Hoquiam where she grew up and attended schools. In 1939 she married Clarence Holm in Hoquiam. He would pass away in 1975.
She was a homemaker but started work at Grays Harbor Veneer in the mill in 1970 and would retire in 1984. She liked gardening and canning what she grew, embroidery, steelhead fishing, had commercially dug clams and had been a member of the Eagles Auxiliary. She also liked trips to Reno and other casinos.
Dorothy is survived by a daughter: Nancy and husband Steve Warnken, Montesano; and one grandchild, two great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Greg Holm in 2005 and her significant other, Kenneth Snyder in 2009.
A private cryptside service was held in the Mausoleum at Fern Hill Cemetery, Aberdeen.
