December 13, 1990 – December 1, 2024

 Holly Kathleen Hagen, affectionately known by her father as, “Holly Cuillean, Sacred Flower from the Skies,” unexpectedly passed away on December 1, 2024.

 Holly’s youthful exuberance and enthusiasm allowed her to become an incredible force in her professional life, community, and family. She cemented herself as an integral part of Grays Harbor’s ecosystem of businesses and organizations, excelling in the many different roles that she held. Holly was actively pursuing her BA degree in Psychology at The Evergreen State College and was a dedicated volunteer and member of the Aberdeen Rotary Club. She acted as an Administrative Rockstar and Account Executive with Jodesha Broadcasting while also running her own small businesses. One of the more influential of Holly’s projects was her business Morning Orange, through which she made massive, positive impacts on the lives of her clients by offering spiritual guidance through Tarot, using her intense sense of empathy and intuition. The other business that Holly owned and operated was Turtle Mountain Evergreens, through which she kept her family’s legacy alive by continuing to provide the community with handmade wreathes and fresh evergreens harvested from the forest, like her family had been doing for over 100 years until she took up the mantel.

 Building and fostering strong and healthy communities was one of Holly’s greatest passions. Toward that end, she dedicated much of her time and studies to education, mental health, small businesses, and ways to help young people overcome the challenges that they face in our modern world. She was committed to maintaining strong connections with her loved ones, and encouraging others to uplift one another, always moving forward toward her dreams while helping others achieve their own.

 Among the many things that made Holly truly unique was her passion for music. Her love of music began when she was a child, and that love grew into much more than a hobby for her. She began playing instruments when she was very young, and looked to artists like Frank Zappa, The White Stripes, and Jimmy Hendrix for inspiration early on. She was a member of many local bands throughout the years as a guitarist, bassist, or vocalist. She often expressed herself through songs and would serenade her family with funny songs to make them laugh during darker times.

 When she was not volunteering her time to her community, running her businesses, or working on her degree, Holly could typically be found outdoors. Her connection to nature was a source of strength and peace. She found that nature offers simple joys, tranquility, and bountiful harvests. Harvesting razor clams, evergreen boughs, chanterelles, or berries presented her with a meditative rhythm that she honored deeply. Through this rhythm, she found that there was a true and meaningful connection between herself and the world. Her profound love for nature often prompted her to take her friends to experience the freedom and beauty of the great outdoors by her side, hiking through lush forests, exploring serene beaches, and even surfing the waves of the wild coast. Being an avid reader as well, she found comfort under the shade of trees while she would get lost in the pages of a good book.

 As a close friend has said, “Holly was aggressively kind.” She strove to embody the values of love, individuality, compassion, and understanding. She shared her love, art, and passion generously with those around her. Her dedication to the community and her ability to connect with others will be remembered fondly, for in her life, she touched the hearts of countless people. Holly will be truly missed and cherished by all who knew her.

 She is survived by her partner Seth, Grandmother Marie, her parents Ray and Kathy, and her stepparents Silvana and Russ, as well as her siblings Jake, Robin, Brian, and Allen, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other close relatives and friends. She is also survived by her beloved cats Percy and Bicko.
