Irene Eleanor Hollingsworth, 90, a life-long resident of the Harbor, died at Federal Way, WA, Tuesday, June 27, 2017. She was born at Ocosta, WA on February 9, 1927, the daughter of Malcom F. and Mildred Jane (Hathaway) Graham.
She attended Ocosta schools and was married to Archie “Gene” Hollingsworth in Everett in 1945. She had worked for Ocean Spray for 35 years, serving as a payroll officer and traffic manager. She retired in 1995. Along with Gene they also operated cranberry bogs where they lived in Grayland. Gene died in 1992. Irene would move to Federal Way in 2011.
Irene enjoyed playing Pan. She also with Gene went to Reno every year.
She is survived by a daughter: Jeanie Norris, South Aberdeen; three grandchildren: Taresa Vigil, Katy, TX, Tim Norris, Spanaway, WA and Ted Norris Bothel, WA; and four great grandchildren: Kaitlyn and Megan Vigil, Sierra Clapham and Declan Norris.
A funeral service will be held at Noon Saturday, July 8th in the chapel at Fern Hill Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Fern Hill Cemetery.
