Virginia Heppe

Virginia Charlotte (Mann) Heppe, 93, Elma resident, died Monday, August 9, 2021 at Grays Harbor Health and Rehab Center in Aberdeen, WA.

Virginia was born on July 3, 1928 in Elma, WA to Arthur Carl and Charlotte Elizabeth (Borden) Mann. She lived on Fuller Hill area until the plant was built. She moved to Alaska in 1973 and then to Forks in 1982 and then back to Elma two years later.

On December 12, 1947, Virginia married Curtis J. Heppe at the Satsop Methodist Church. He passed away on November 23, 1983.

Virginia worked as a cook and waitress at Satsop Dinner House from 1965 to 73 and at Pay-n-Save restaurant while in Forks.

Virginia was a member of the Elma V.F.W. since 1948. A 4H Leader for many years.She was an instructor at Panhandle Lake 4-H camp. She was also the supervisor of Arts and Crafts at the Grays Harbor County Fair for many years.

Virginia is survived by: a daughter, Nonita (Tom) Dixon; two sons: James (Nora Lee) Heppe of Elma and Rodney Heppe of Oakville; 18 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Curtis, a son Carl Lewis Heppe, two daughters: Clara Marie B lanchford and Elizabeth Louise “Betty” Early; brothers: Fred, Bill Arthur Jr., Jimmy, John, Pete and Leroy; sisters: Nina, Catherine, Clara and Anna.

There will be a celebration of Virginia’s life on August 28, 2021 at 1:30 PM at the Mccleary V.F.W. Hall in McCleary WA. Potluck with reception to follow at the same location.
