Kathleen Elaine Harless, 64, Aberdeen resident and former Registered Nurse, died Thursday afternoon, April 30, 2015 at Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Olympia, Wa.
Kathy was born on December 9, 1950 in Akron, Ohio to Lawrence W. and Patricia A. (Flaherty) Loucks. When she was in the 2nd grade, Kathy’s family moved to Skagit Valley, WA. They later moved to Aberdeen, where Kathy graduated from Weatherwax High School in 1969.
On August 23, 1969, Kathleen married Ronald Wayne Harless in Hoquiam’s Harbor Free Methodist Church. Ron lives at the family home.
Kathy worked for Sears from 1975 to 1981 and then she then went to Grays Harbor College where she graduated with the first graduating class from the school’s registered nursing program. She then went to work at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in the Recovery Room form 1987 until her retirement in 2005. She was passionate that her patients get the best medical care possible.
She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Aberdeen and Immanuel Baptist Church in Hoquiam. . Kathy loved music, singing alto in many musical groups. Most of her vocal work was done praising her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She also did a little gardening and sewing. If there was a baby nearby, Kathy was usually holding it, She loved babies and small children. Kathy loved to travel and visited 49 of the 50 states along with three different trips to Europe.
Kathleen is survived by her husband of 45 years, Ronald Harless of Aberdeen; Three sons: Ronald W. Harless Jr. of Seattle, Matthew L.J. and wife Gienelle Harless of Cosmopolis and Ryan M. Harless of Aberdeen; her mother Patricia Loucks of Arlington, WA; brother, John and wife Kathy Loucks of Marysville; sisters: Ann Molnar of Albany, OR, Roberta and husband George Barnes of Lacey and Laura and husband Riaz Monjazeb of Arlington, WA; two grandsons: Kaiden Schubert and Eli Harless.
There will be a celebration of Kathleen’s life on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 11 AM in Immanuel Baptist Church in Hoquiam, WA.
