Twyla Grogan, 76

Elma Resident Twyla Grogan, 76, died June 29, 2022 in Elma, WA. Twyla was born in Caldwell, ID and was the first child of Allen Hathaway and Sarah “Lily” Wohlcke. She grew up and attended school in Pendleton, OR where she met and married her husband Michael Grogan in 1965. After 54 years together Michael preceded her in death in 2020. Twyla has been a resident of Elma and active member and leader in the Elma Seventh Day Adventist Church for 41 years.

Twyla was passionate about her family, church, baking and cake decorating. All her life she created beautiful special occasion cakes for friends and family. When she returned to work after having children her first job was as a professional baker in Forks, WA. She later began working administrative positions and returned to college to obtain her BS in Business Administration. Before her retirement she worked for the WA State Patrol and Department of Licensing.

Twyla is survived by her 3 children and their spouses, Cindy Monaghan; Troy Grogan (Cynthia Grogan); Megan Clevenger (Troy Clevenger); her 5 grandchildren and spouses, Rhyan Grogan (Gabby Bayha); John Clevenger; Briann Lowrance (Blake Lowrance); Mikaela Powers, Cami Pineda (Diego Pineda); her 5 great grandchildren, her brother Ron Hathaway and sister Marlene Stenlund (Tim Stenlund).

Services will be held graveside at the Masonic Cemetery in Elma, WA on Friday, July 22, 2022, at 2:00 PM. At that time, she and Michael’s ashes will be buried together just as they were in life.
