Morris Richard ‘Dick’ Green, 70, a lifetime resident of Montesano and former log truck driver, died Thursday morning, June 14, 2012 at his home in Montesano.
Morris was born on September 20, 1941 in Shelton, WA to Morris E. and Bernice (Thaxton) Green. He graduated from Montesano High School in 1960. He drove logging trucks in the area and for 2 years in Alaska for Kake Tribal Logging. Morris was also part owner of Summit Shake Mill in Montesano for a while.
On July 4, 1979, Dick married Gayle A. Kellogg in Reno, NV. She lives at the family home.
Dick was a 27-year member of the Montesano Moose Lodge and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and his grandkids.
Dick is survived by his wife of 32 years, Gayle Green; a daughter, Jody Lev of Libby, MT; Step-daughters: Kerri and husband Mark Mollett of Aberdeen and Laurie Osborn of Marysville, WA; brother Dale L. and wife Charlene Green of Montesano; Nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Morris was preceded by a brother, Clarence ‘Mick’ Green and a sister Carol Reeves and nephew Michael Green and his parents Morris and Bernice(Thaxton) Green.
Per Dick’s wishes, there will be no service. He will be inurned at Wynooche Cemetery in Montesano.
