Copalis Crossing resident, Danny Ray Graves, 66, died at his home Sunday, November 10, 2013. He was born in Fremont Nebraska, March 10, 1947, the son of Virgil L. and Stella M. (Knapp) Graves. He graduated from Lake Washington High School, Seattle, in 1965. He joined the Navy and served for 4 years, returning to the Seattle area.
He married Anita T. Lee in Federal Way, May 1, 1999, then lived in Tacoma, WA for 7 years. They moved to Fremont, NE for 3 years before coming to Copalis Crossing in 2009.
Danny belonged to the Grays Harbor County Pool League, playing for the Aloha Tavern. He also enjoyed NASCAR and football, especially the Green Bay Packers.
Besides his wife, Anita of the family home in Copalis Crossing , Danny is survived by a son: Derick in Arizona; two step-sons: Michael Neland, Beaverton, OR and Robert (Claudette) Neland, New Haven, CT; a stepdaughter: Jennifer (Dustin) Smith, Portland, OR; two brothers: Larry (Mabelle) Graves, Fargo, ND and Patrick (Denise) Taylor, Fremont, NE; a sister: Patricia Gollinger, Fremont, NE; and also six grandchildren.
Inurnment will take place in Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent, WA. A private family gathering will be held at the gravesite at a later date.
